The I.T. Challenge

A company’s I.T. department is faced with several challenges.  The company’s business places certain regulations and demands on what the I.T. department must provide to their customers while demanding that they minimizing costs at the same time.  Customers of the I.T. department, both internal and external, have other demands such as a timely response to requests, data availability even after hours, and amount and type of information that is made available.

The government places even more demands on the I.T. department.  Every transaction that occurs in the database must be able to be audited.  This places even more pressure on the I.T. department, especially when most auditing solutions utilize primitive techniques that drastically increase the amount of processing for the DB2 system and dramatically tax system performance.

At the same time, the I.T. department is faced with the very real fact that the demand for skilled professionals far exceeds the supply of trained I.T. personnel.  The I.T. department must face all these challenges while balancing the overarching problem of data growth.

Faced with these pressures and challenges, existing data management processes simply aren’t good enough for modern growing businesses.   Learn More.
