Semi-Finalist in the 2007 Best of Information On Demand Showcase

- CDB Software, Inc., an innovative provider of solutions for DB2 z/OS data management, today announced that its CDB/Auto-Online Reorg with Next Generation Technology was recognized as a semi-finalist in the 2007 Best of Information On Demand Showcase during the IBM Information On Demand 2007 conference held in Las Vegas last week. A part of the CDB Intelligent Data Management (IDM) suite of solutions, CDB/Auto-Online Reorg was one of just six products named in the 2007 Best of Information on Demand Showcase awards.

CDB/Auto-Online Reorg with Next Generation Technology leverages ZiiP to provide immediate savings in CPU costs, especially coupled with the new CDB Software architecture that already reduces CPU elapsed time. In fact, according to one recent customer benchmark, the CDB solution used half the CPU time and 25% of the elapsed time compared to the native DB2 Reorg. 76% of CDB’s CPU usage was eligible for ZiiP engines. Leveraging the CDB’s unique Next Generation Technology, these benefits can grow exponentially as the number of objects or size of the objects grows.
Like all other CDB IDM solutions, CDB/Auto-Online Reorg features a new Windows-based console for simplified management and monitoring for the growing number of DB2 z/OS boxes many companies are face with maintaining. In addition, CDB offers a new Value-Based Pricing structure for its IDM solutions which, unlike traditional pricing models which are based on a customer’s installed capacity or some variation such as peak processing, enables companies to pay only for the used DB2 DASD that is managed by CDB products.
